Football Today podcast with ESPN.com/Scouts Inc’s Matt Williamson (does not require Insider access)

ESPN Radio Podcast with Matt Williamson and KC JoynerCheck out the ESPN.com Football Today podcast I did with ESPN.com/Scouts Inc. analyst Matt Williamson.  My portion of the podcast starts around the 18:25 mark. The bulk of the conversation revolves around whether or not Miles Austin is now the #1 WR in the NFL (I’m on the yes side, Matt plays devil’s advocate). Matt also tells why he is a big fan of the annual TFS Draft Guides.  There are a number of other informational tidbits as well, so bend your ear if you have a moment!

Favre’s value dropping

The draft guide top 64 was just updated this weekend but with the injury to Sidney Rice, Percy Harvin’s migraines and Bernard Berrian’s lousy metrics, another change is in order.  Brett Favre will be dropping from elite to near-elite status and Rice’s injury takes him out of that list entirely.  I’m working on the new chart now.

TFS interview on ESPN 1050 New York Football LIVE show with Bernstein and Buttle

I spoke with Bonnie Bernstein and Greg Buttle about the Darrelle Revis situation.  Greg made a great point about why Revis was targeted as often as he was last year.  Interview starts at around the 33-minute mark.

Interview w/JMV on ESPN Radio 1070 (Indianapolis)

Check out the interview I did on The Ride with JMV on ESPN Radio 1070 in Indianapolis.  JMV was quite surprised to hear my comments on Favre (the Vikings offense would not fall apart without him).  We also spoke about a sleeper fantasy football candidate on the Colts roster and one NFC team I believe could be surprisingly good.

Draft Guide cheat sheet updates

The draft guide was completed not quite two weeks ago but in that time there have been multiple personnel changes around the league. That means an update to the cheat sheets is in order, so I am working on that now.  Look for it to be released on or before Friday morning (August 6).

Free Priority Mail shipping!

It has always been a goal of mine not to turn shipping costs into a profit area. That mindset led to a lot of trial and error over the years in getting postage and handling charges to dovetail with the actual cost of packaging and mailing the books out. Well intentioned as that effort was, the resulting pricing structure ended up being confusing to our customers as well as to me and Mrs. Scientist (who handles all TFS shipping).

This year we decided to make it easier on everyone.  All hard copy orders (i.e. all orders that have an actual printed copy of a book as opposed to purely electronic orders) to the United States will be sent out via Priority Mail.  The price of the shipping has been baked into the price of the book, thus making it an easier order process across the board.  Priority Mail is also faster than Media Mail and has the advantage of a tracking number for those rare times when something happens to the delivery.

In other words, it is a win-win-win situation!

 2010 Fantasy Football Draft Guide

2010 Fantasy Football Draft Guide

Great news!  The Football Scientist 2010 Draft Guide is complete! It is over 300 pages and 50,000 words long.  I am emailing out the guides in the order in which the orders were received but all should be sent out today.  The pre-order price will be kept up over the weekend to give everyone one last chance to order at the lower price.

Thanks for being patient with me.  Now let’s get to some fantasy football!!
