TFS post free agency/NFL draft fantasy football WR rankings
May 21, 2020
Hello again! I spent the past few days putting together a set of post free agency/NFL draft fantasy football rankings. They are based on the long-time TFS 1-100 ranking system where the following setup applies:
90-100 - Elite player (blue-rated)
80-90 - Strong starter (green-rated)
70-80 - Solid backup (yellow-rated)
60-70 - Deep bench player (orange-rated)
Less than 60 - Avoid in all but the deepest of leagues (red-rated)
The system also uses the TFS system that includes overall grade, upside grade (a player's projected fantasy ceiling if all goes well), and downside grade (a players' projected fantasy floor if all goes poorly).
I will be providing more details on these rankings in the near future, but one notable item is that there are only 25 WRs with 80+ overall rankings in non-PPR and/or PPR environments. There is another group of nearly 20 WRs who have upside grades of 80+ but whose overall grades land them in the solid backup category. This indicates that landing a high percentage strong starter will be a bit harder at this position than it will be at the RB position and thus indicates that WRs may be a position of emphasis in 2020 fantasy drafts.
